Riding Instruction II

If you are an intermediate rider or have completed the Riding Instruction I class, the many aspects of horsemanship in this class will enable you to become a better rider. Continue to build your confidence on horses as you progress as a rider and learn safe horseback riding techniques. Instruction includes lateral control of the horse, transitions, balanced stops, roll-backs, pivots, and leads. Lessons will be western. Minimum Age is 18. Bring your own horse or use a program horse for an additional $10 per class session. Call Workforce Training 208-282-3372, to make arrangements for a horse (limited availability).

Aikido is a Japanese martial art that focuses on ethical conflict resolution. By blending with the attacker’s energy (physical or otherwise) and leading it towards de-escalation a less “powerful” person can remain safe. The training is cooperative and joyous and suitable for all ages and physical abilities. In the words of the Founder Morihei Ueshiba, “You are here to realize your inner divinity and manifest your innate enlightenment. Argentine Tango Dance

An introduction to Argentine Tango dance and culture, including Tango dance, music, and relevant Spanish language terminology. The focus of the course is on basic Tango movement, which includes communication between the partners and improvisation. Appropriate for Beginner and Advanced Beginner Tango dancers. Comfortable shoes with a leather sole are recommended. No class on February 16th and March 23rd.

These ballroom classes will move at a pace good for learning, including group exercises to become familiar and comfortable with dancing. Partner required; class fee ($50) per person. Section 1 – Beginning WaltzWaltz, sometimes called “Slow Waltz”, is one of the primary Ballroom Dances, and a favorite at weddings and Holiday parties. Waltz is done to ¾ time music, and this course teaches the basics of this fun, elegant and flowing dance. Classes include both instruction (~1.5 hrs.) and time (~0.5hrs) to practice with instructor support. Section 2 – Beginning American Rumba Rumba began with Cuban and Latin American dance crazes. It is a slow, romantic dance done to 4/4 music with strong rhythms, and melodies influenced by Spanish and Africanflavors. Ballroom Rumba uses a box for its basic step. Unlike the Waltz and Foxtrot, Rumba tends to stay in one small spot, using small steps. This makes it very suitable for crowded dance floors. “Cuban Motion” is a major part of its styling. Perfect for those looking to break into the sport of fly fishing, but don’t know where to start. Learn about the different types of flies, basic knots, and rigging as well as casting and presentation techniques. The class will conclude with a Saturday morning of fishing. Beginning Fly Tying

For those who want to tie their own flies, this class will cover the tools, skills, and techniques of fly tying. Students will learn the different kinds of flies that exist and their applications. By the end of this class, students will tie a variety of flies to suit most fishing situations. Our classes are for ages 16 and up, however, this class welcomes those 12 years of age to 17 with a registered adult for the class. Students must bring to class a fly tying vice.

Learn this technique used in the Tiffany studios to create many of their masterpieces. REQUIRED SUPPLIES: Students are required to bring eye protection, mask, gloves, Band- Aids and wear closed-toe shoes. Long hair must be tied back when using the grinder.
