ISU Ginny Thomas Healthy Aging Symposium

Join us for an afternoon of meaningful conversation with healthcare students from Idaho State University. Together, we'll talk about what matters most to you in your health and your senior years, and how to share that with the people who care for you. The first symposium was held in December 2008 and focused on mental health. The second symposium took place on October 30, 2009 and the topic was "Balance and Fall Prevention." The 2010 symposium, held on October 29 focused on "Collaborative Care for Chronic Disease." The 2011 symposium centered on "Transitions of Care. The 2012 symposium centered on “Barriers to Community Participation.” The 2013 symposium centered on “The Resilient Journey for Provider and Patients.” The 2014 symposium centered on “The Cutting Edge: Interprofessional Practice in Geriatrics. The 2015 symposium centered on “Keeping Your Brain Healthy” The 2016 symposium centered on “Sleep and Staying Healthy.” The 2017 symposium centered on Healthy Aging and Nutrition “What’s on Your Plate.” The 2018 symposium centered on “Promoting the Health of Seniors.” The 2019 symposium centered on "Staying Health, Staying Sharp. 2023 "Forget Me Not"--Dementia Care for Older Adults. Conducting for Ensemble Directors

In this weeklong course, ensemble directors will have the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment with ISU ensemble directors Nell Flanders and Luke Strother to gain greater specificity in conducting gesture vocabulary, deepen score study and score interpretation abilities, refine audiation of a score, and practice effective rehearsal techniques. Enrollment, Delivery, and Completion Information ● EDUC 5598P: Conducting for Ensemble Directors ● Credits: 0.50 college semester credit ● Cost: $55 ● Enrollment Type: Open enrollment with self-registration. Preference will be given to current or future directors of instrumental ensembles (An Access Code is Required through 7/10/2026). Ignite Their Future - STEM Summer Workshops

General Information Are you looking for a fun in-person STEM-related workshop for your teen or child? This is the perfect way to ignite a students passion for STEM with exciting hands-on activities. Come have them learn, build, and play! Students have the opportunity to choose from different tracks, compete for prizes, and show their families what they did at camp. These camps are designed for students who are interested in exploring STEM topics through hands-on learning. Students are expected to actively participate in all activities and follow established camp behavior expectations. This camp is an educational program that requires both engagement and appropriate conduct. If a student repeatedly refuses to participate or disrupts the learning environment, they may be removed from the camp. Students are expected to participate respectfully, follow all safety rules, avoid disrupting others, and make a genuine effort to try activities before deciding they do not enjoy them. Session 1: June 15-18 (M-Th) 8:00a - 1:00p, lunch each day between 12:30-1:00p Camp pickup between 12:30-1:00p (During Lunch). $25 early Drop-off (7:30-8:00a) and $25 Late Pickup (1:00-1:30p) are available options each week. Session 2 : July 13-17 (M-F) - OPEN 8:00a - 12:00p, lunch each day between 12:00-12:30p Camp pickup between 12:15-12:30p (During Lunch) $25 early Drop-off (7:30-8:00a) and $25 Late Pickup (12:30-1:00p) are available options each week. Location: ESTEC (Map - Bldg. 49), ISU Campus, Pocatello. Online registration will remain open until a week before the start date to allow for supplies to be on site.
