Chinese Cuisine is famous around the world. The following sections will introduce a variety of dishes that may enhance your understanding of Chinese food. If you are interested in tasting authentic Chinese food and/or learning how to cook these dishes, these classes are for you!! Must be 18+ to attend. Section 1-Chinese DumplingsMany people like dumplings but few know how to make dumpling wrappers and filling. It is easier than you think! After you learn how to make wrappers, and prepare dumpling filling, next time you can work with your family and friends to make dumplings. It can be fun, especially with kids. Section 2-Chinese Pork BunsIn the Chinese society, pork buns are so yummy that many people love them. This class will show you step by step how to prepare the dough and filling. Making your own pork buns is possible and easier than you think!
Cinnamon Roll Making
Warm, gooey, and delicious…these cinnamon rolls will satisfy any sweet tooth! Learn how to make these crowd pleasers from scratch in this fun course! Bring a container to take home cinnamon rolls. Must be 18+ to attend.
Fermented Food Mastery
Scientists in the field of fermentation have discovered that the presence of good bacteria in your gut can contribute to maintaining a healthy brain. Section 1 - Raw Cultured VegetablesRaw cultured vegetables are one of the oldest forms of food preservation utilized by many ethnicities around the world throughout human history. The term is generally synonymous with any chopped, grated or shredded vegetable that has gone through a natural fermentation process. Bring your own jar. Section 2 - SauerkrautSauerkraut is a highly nutritious food that provides fiber, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and probiotics. Learn some of the many health benefits of sauerkraut. Bring your own jar. Section 3 - Sourdough Bread Starter Sourdough baking basics class, you will learn how to make a starter and learn good maintenance practices, and how to make the sourdough bread. You will take home a sourdough starter, and a loaf of bread and all the instructional information. Bring your own materials or materials are available to purchase at the time of the class.
Roll Making for Beginners
Make rolls for your holiday dinner, special occasions or just because! We’ll spend some time discussing what can go wrong with making rolls and how to safeguard against those pitfalls. Bring an apron and a cookie sheet so you can take your rolls home to bake. All other ingredients supplied. Must be 18+ to attend.
Uzbek Plov (Uzbek Rice Pilaf with meat)
Simple, easy to find ingredients and outstanding taste has made Uzbek Plov popular worldwide. Traditionally, plov is made with lamb meat, although beef, pork, or even chicken could be used as a substitute. In our class, we are going to use two different recipes to make two types of plov – one with chicken and one with beef.
Whole Wheat Bread Making for Beginners
If you’ve always dreamed of baking bread, but have never known where to start, join us! This hands-on class walks through making a loaf of bread: no frills, no mystery, and no tricky moves. We’ll discuss what can go wrong and how to safeguard against those pitfalls. Bring an apron and a loaf pan so you can take your bread dough home to bake after the class. All ingredients supplied.
