Learn more about Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) through a self-paced course that introduces PLC theory while maintaining an emphasis on PLC application in industrial control systems. Based on the Rockwell MicrLogix 1000, the course is divided into 15 modules. Each module contains test, animations, mini lectures, illustrations, review questions, lab projects, and practice exams. Lab kit with a PLC and related hardware and software will be mailed to you; requires a deposit of $300 (refunded upon return of the lab kit). Weekly technical support sessions are available for questions that may arise during the course.
The PLC kit will be mailed to the students once the class fee has been paid. Please email cetrain@isu.edu for kit delivery instructions after registration.
Students should complete the online coursework within 90 days of the time they receive the PLC kit.
