Come enjoy a presentation from Robin Piet as she shares her experiences & beautiful pictures of visiting World Heritage Sites (WHS). A WHS is designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), as being meaningful to humanity. There are both cultural and natural sites. The cultural sites should show outstanding examples of human traditions, architecture, values or creative genius. These sites affected humanity in their time and may still affect us today.
The natural sites must display significant ecological and biological development, either past or present, as well as immense native beauty. These preserved pictures of untouched environment boast special gems that can be admired across the globe. Currently there are 1160 WHS, with many more on the tentative list, awaiting approval.
Robin will show and talk about as many sites as possible and will set up future sessions depending on interest.
