Suicide Prevention (HSM)

Description Registration

In this module, you’ll learn the basics of suicide prevention by reviewing the scope of suicide and who is impacted, identifying common risk factors, protective factors, and warning signs, and working through short case examples. You’ll also review common myths vs. facts about suicide, consider the role of culture in suicide prevention, and practice how to screen, respond, and connect someone to help using tools like the C-SSRS and QPR, including crisis supports such as 988.

Learners will build foundational suicide-prevention knowledge and apply basic screening and referral practices to support clients safely and respectfully, including connecting individuals to appropriate help/resources when needed.

Students are encouraged to complete this module within two weeks. HSM access is for six months. A Certificate of Completion can be printed after successful completion of the course.
