The Museum of Rexburg has several displays on East Idaho history, including several exhibits about the Teton Dam breaking and flooding in 1976.  Eleven people and 12,000 cattle died as the result of the dam collapsing. The museum has a 25-minute movie about the collapse and destruction that followed.   After enjoying the museum, you may take a 20-minute drive to the location where the dam use to be, although there is no educational material available at the dam site.
