Resilient Poland

Description Registration

The Poles are one of the most resilient people, having survived countless invasions over a millennium.  Learn what we experienced in September-October 2024 about Poland's history, views of WWII, and Poland's beauty.  They survived invasions and domination by the Mongols; the Swedes; the Teutonic Knights; the 123-year partition by Germany/Prussia, Austria, and Russia; 6 years of Nazi occupation and 50 years of Soviet occupation.  WWII started in Gdansk, Poland, in 1939.  Some argue it only ended in 1989 in Gdansk when the Soviet-backed government agreed to mostly free elections.
