In this class, Gretchen will demo putting together a dish called Spanakopita (Greek spinach pie) that uses Phyllo dough. While that is baking, students will be put in pairs, and the class will make 5 pans of Baklava to be donated to the Festival of Trees the following week! Baklava is a layered pastry dessert made with phyllo dough pastry basted with butter, filled with chopped nuts, and sweetened with sugar covered in a honey syrup. There will be a $5 fee for this class. All supplies will be provided and students will get to taste the Spanakopita and Baklava! A copy of both recipes will be provided via email before the class.
