The 7,641 islands of the Philippines archipelago have provided nature an opportunity to experiment and create many novel designs. Half of its animal species are thought to exist nowhere else in the world. There are more endemic plant species than all of the plants in Idaho put together! Set in the midst of the Coral Triangle, the isles are surrounded by some of the last healthy reef systems on the planet. I traveled for 5 weeks to study them.
