Description Registration

The purpose of this course is to provide an understanding of opioid addiction and treatment. As a community health worker, it’s important to understand the risk factors your clients may have for opioid use disorder and address the barriers they face in seeking treatment.

This course is important to you as a community health worker because you’ll learn about prescription opioid misuse so you can help those at risk for opioid addiction and overdose in your community. You’ll be better equipped to help those struggling with opioid use disorder (addiction) find the right care and treatment. Finally, you can help increase awareness in your community about the risk and dangers of prescription drug misuse and abuse.

Students are encouraged to complete this module within two weeks. HSM access is for six months. A Certificate of Completion can be printed after successful completion of the course.
