Newgrange is a prehistoric passage tomb in County Meath, Ireland, on the north side of the River Boyne. It was built during the Neolithic period, around 3200 BC, making it older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids. The engineering is so brilliant and precise that rays of the rising sun at the winter solstice enters through a window box above the doorway, traverses the sixty-foot-long passage, and lights up a stone bowl in the tripartite chamber at the end.
