Introduction to Mental Health (HSM)
In this module, we will build a shared understanding of mental health, including what influences it and how mental health can change over time. We will also introduce behavioral health, explain what mental health disorders are (and what they are not), and review common categories of disorders . Finally, we will overview the basics of how to respond to mental health concerns, including common treatment approaches and when to connect a client with a licensed mental health professional or other support.
Learners will apply a foundational understanding of mental health and behavioral health to better recognize common warning signs of mental health concerns, respond appropriately, and connect clients with needed support and services.
Students are encouraged to complete this module within two weeks. HSM access is for six months. A Certificate of Completion can be printed after successful completion of the course.
