If you have a sewing machine but cannot use it, or have always wanted to learn to sew, this class is for you! You will learn how to operate a sewing machine and then will use your new skills to make an apron. The pattern we use is suitable for both men and women. Specific skills include reading and understanding the pattern instruction sheet, cutting out the fabric using the pattern, sewing patch pockets, making facings and casings, sewing a long tie (strap), and more. The commercial pattern is provided—you provide fabric and thread. If you have a sewing machine, bring it along with sewing tools. If you do not have equipment, you can rent it by prior arrangement with the instructor for $30. A materials and tools list will be available when you register.
Please see the handout for a materials list.
