Baklava is a layered pastry dessert made with phyllo dough pastry basted with butter, filled with chopped nuts, sweetened with sugar, and covered in a honey syrup.  Students will be put in pairs, and the class will make five pans of Baklava to be donated to the Festival of Trees the following week!  All supplies will be provided.  After making Baklava, you will have the skills to make Spanakopita which is another dish using Phyllo dough that encases a spinach filling!  A copy of both recipes will be provided via email before the class.
