Healing from Moral Injury

Description Registration

Moral injury is the social, psychological, biological, relational and spiritual damage which occurs when deeply held moral beliefs or expectations are betrayed. Our confidence in oneself and other's ability to act justly is disrupted. An injury can result when we perpetrate, witness, fail to prevent, or even learn about acts which violate our moral sense. This class will explore the causes of moral injury, and suggests that healing is possible through intentional connection to others and by taking a fresh look at arriving at a moral sense.
