In 1973 a group of Ham Radio Operators decided to place a Repeater on 9,265-foot Mount Harrison near Burley, Idaho. This repeater would provide a wide area of coverage of South Western, Central, Eastern, Idaho and Northern Utah. This lecture will include how the Hams convinced the Forest Service and Commercial Radio telephone services that this project would not interfere with any businesses. Shortly after the Repeater was operational, the Teton Dam failed. The course will focus on what happened after that and the enlightenment of the Value of Amateur Radio to Idaho.
