Dried and True: Food Drying 101

This class explains the basics of food drying and then explores creative ideas that go far beyond dried apples and apricots, including drying veggies, meat, spices, fruit leathers, and leftovers.  A great class for backpackers who want to eat cheap, amazing food on the trail; for young people with practically no room for food storage; or for anyone who wants to learn more about this ancient, simple method of preserving food.  Although this is not a cooking class, samples of dried foods will be provided along with instructions.
