Would you like to raise honey bees in your backyard? In this class we'll talk about how to get started raising bees, the clothing and equipment needed, the cost and sources for supplies and bees, building a hive, bee behavior, seasonal activities, collecting honey, and common bee diseases. After this "taste" of honey making, you can decide if you're ready to enter the world of beekeeping! This class is designed to coach beginners who are planning to start their own hives this spring and also teach others who simply want to discover the fascinating craft of beekeeping.
