Controlling Infectious Disease in Idaho's Communities
The purpose of this course is to build a compassionate health workforce in Idaho with the capacity to effectively address prevention, harm reduction, and care for HIV, STDs, viral hepatitis, and other communicable diseases, especially in under-served communities.
The course consists of ten modules as follows:
- Module 1 - Foundations of Public Health
- Module 2 - Epidemiology Essentials
- Module 3 - Infectious Disease 101
- Module 4 - HIV, Viral Hepatitis, and STDs
- Module 5 - Disease Outbreak Response
- Module 6 - Fundamentals of Disease Intervention: STI Contact Tracing and Partner Services
- Module 7 - Idaho Infectious Disease Resources
- Module 8 - Rural Health and Health Equity: Assets and Challenges
- Module 9 - Diversity, Inclusion and Cultural Humility
- Module 10 - Communicating with Compassion
Participants will be able to print a micro-credential after completing each module, and a professional certificate after successfully completing all ten modules. Each module is self-paced (requiring about 4 hours of engagement to complete) but will close two weeks after it is first accessed. The student will have six months to view and complete the entire course.
