Community Based Doula Work (HSM)

Description Registration

As a Community Health Worker, it is important for you to know who doulas are, what they do, and what their impact on birth outcomes is, because:

  • One of your participants may seek this information, or want to explore the opportunity to have doula care.

  • Community-based doulas, one kind of doula, are a peer workforce that have many things in common with CHWs.

Learners will apply knowledge of doula care in order to successfully navigate patients and communities to improved birth outcomes.

Students are encouraged to complete this module within two weeks. HSM access is for six months. A Certificate of Completion can be printed after successful completion of the course.
