Christmas - Henry's Fork Museum

Attendees will visit the Museum of the Henry’s Fork in Ashton, ID.  The Museum houses exhibits, objects, and records relating to Fremont County’s history. Historic exhibit themes include trapping and trading, farming, Bear Gulch Ski Area, the railroad, everyday living, the military, American Dog Derby (sled dog race), farming, Historic Ashton Christmas Village, and 1800’s mountain man display. 

The Christmas village contains over 100 village buildings, many have been made to resemble local attractions. Over 600 total pieces in front of murals depicting the local area painted by an Ashton artist. The “Ashton memories” Christmas tree will take you back in time.  The tree is decorated with historic photos of Ashton and surrounding area, popcorn garland, candle lights and antique ornaments.  The front museum window is transformed into a “live” window during the holiday season.  A local couple dresses in Victorian period clothing and greet those who drive or walk past by the Museum.
