Traditional leadership has a tendency to put the leader at the top of an organizational structure. The leader’s power lies in the position, rather than by influence. The power of servant leadership is that the leader works to bring out the best in those with whom they work and becomes a source of help and mentoring to members of the organization. As individual employees achieve success, the organization can live up to its mission more effectively; those who work within its framework can unleash the best they have to offer.
