Fire Extinguisher Operations
In this presentation, trainees will be taught to identify the different classes of fires. Students will learn why using the correct class of fire extinguisher is safer for them and/or more effective at putting out certain fires and describe limitations of the different classes of extinguishers. At the conclusion of this training, participants will be able to define a fire, describe the four essential elements needed for combustion, and identify how common types of extinguishers attack a fire. Hypothermia Awareness
This presentation discusses how hypothermia can happen and the three reactions that are likely to occur if you fall into icy water. The presentation will also discuss how long symptoms generally take to appear and explain why this information is important to know. At the completion of this training, the trainee will be able to explain what hypothermia is and how it can affect you if you fall into water that is near freezing. This presentation discusses how contamination control can increase the risk of heat stress. This presentation includes how improper PPE can increase the risk of electrocution. Slips, Trips and Falls
Slips, Trips, and Falls - The Basics (6124-01) This class covers the basics of preventing slips, trips, and falls - some of the most frequently-reported injuries in the workplace. Also covered are the definition of a slip, a trip, and a fall, the potential injuries that can result for a slip, trip, and/fall, and what needs to be done for protection in the workplace. Slips (6124-03 & 04) This class covers the basics of preventing slip accidents in the workplace. In addition to that, the definition of a slip, the environmental conditions increasing risk of slips, and what can be done to prevent slipping are also covered. This presentation is available in English and Spanish -A Spanish Transcript is available here Trips (6124-05 & 06) This class covers the basic OSHA safety guidelines involving trips in construction and other related industries. The class includes the definition of a trip, an in-depth overview of the hazards that are likely to lead to tripping, environmental conditions that increase the risk of trips, and what can be done to help eliminate trips and trip hazards on the job.
