Robotic Revolution (6th-8th grades) and (9th-12th grades)


Learn how to build and program vex robots and compete against the other robots in your workshop. Learning to program and build robots is a great skill for many STEM fields. Discover your passion for robotics!


Build & Launch Rockets! (6th-8th grades)


Build and keep stomp rockets, water rockets, egg rockets, and chemical Estes rockets. Learn the physics of how to make great rockets and basic principles of engineering and design.


Coding with Scratch: Create Your Own Interactive Stories and Games (6th-8th grades)


This summer, embark on an extraordinary adventure into the realms of creativity and technology with "Coding with Scratch: Create Your Own Interactive Stories and Games" a course, designed exclusively for middle schoolers! Whether you're a budding programmer or a creative spirit eager to bring your stories to life, this course is your gateway to the fascinating world of coding through Scratch, the intuitive and kid-friendly programming platform. Course Overview: Dive into the vibrant world of Scratch, where the only limit is your imagination! Our expert-led sessions will guide young learners through the basics of computer programming, transforming abstract coding concepts into fun, tangible projects. Participants will unleash their creativity by designing their very own video games, animated stories, and interactive art, all while gaining essential 21st-century skills. Why Scratch? Building and Programming LEGO EV3 Robots (6th-8th grades)


Campers will learn how to design, build, and program LEGO EV3 robots. At the end of the week, campers will get to use the robots they built to compete against each other.


Radiation Detectives (6th-8th grades)


In this hands-on camp, students will explore the types of tools used to detect radiation, how it is contains it so people can work safely in radioactive environments, its uses in medical and food service industries, and what objects around us contribute to background environments.


Idaho Dino Dioramas! (6th-8th grades)


Build (and keep) your own depiction of Idaho 100 million years ago. Learn about ancient Idaho, study modern landscapes, and craft an intricate, life-like landscape with dinosaurs, crocodiles, and more!


Getting to Know the Exciting Life of EMS (9th-12th grades)


EMS is about saving lives. In this course you will learn CPR and how to use an AED. Assessing, splinting and loading a patient into an ambulance. Setting up a helicopter landing zone. Loading a patient into a medical helicopter.


Intro to Computerized Machining (9th-12th grades)


Have you ever found yourself having satisfaction watching videos of layers of sand being cut away, or a sculptor removing material layer by layer to expose some sort of form that you would never would have thought was inside that ugly block of material? Then come and join us this summer in the Computerized Machining program where we take block of material and cut layer by layer to expose parts that are used in day to day lives. In this summer camp the instructors in the Machining program will provide you with an introduction to machining by teaching you how to draw a part in the Cad/Cam software on the computer, and then turning that part into something real by taking it to the shop and cutting it with a CNC Machine.


Introduction to Python Programming (9th-12th grades)


"Congratulations! You are starting on the exciting adventure of learning computer programming! It will be a fun adventure, but it will also be a very rewarding adventure. The skills you will learn will make you a better problem-solver and, if you continue, will prepare you to make a real impact in a world that desperately needs good computer programmers!

In this course you will be learning Python 3, the latest version of the most popular programming language. It is popular because it is also one of the easiest languages to learn. we will follow the material as found in an e-book that can be a resource to continue learning Python after the course is over (this course doesn't necessarily make use of the e-book). The course will require about 20 hours for middle schoolers and closer to 15 hours for high schoolers. Below is a schedule of things you will learn (devoting roughly 4 hours per day) and a list of the resources we will use that you can continue to use after the camp is over."


Rockin’ World of Transistor Amplifiers Design! (9th-12th grades)


Welcome to the Rockin’ World of Transistor Amplifiers Design! Get ready to turn up the educational volume in this electrifying strand where learning meets excitement! Unleash your inner engineer as we dive into the groove of transistor amplifiers, exploring everything from power supplies, transistor biasing, amplifier gain, and rocking measurements with an oscilloscope. Forget the snooze-fest lectures – our approach is hands-on and full of energy. Get your math mojo on for amplifier design, jam out on the breadboard prototyping, and fine-tune your soldering skills in our happening educational sessions.


Custom 3D Printed Bluetooth Speaker Project (9th-12th grades)


At our summer camp for high school students, participants will embark on an exciting journey into the world of electronics. Through hands-on activities, they will learn how to prototype electronic circuits and construct two innovative projects: a Breadboard Power Supply and a Class D, battery-powered Bluetooth speaker. These projects will not only teach students about voltage regulation and audio amplification but also introduce them to essential skills such as circuit breadboarding, troubleshooting, and soldering. By the end of the camp, students will have gained practical hands-on experience and a sense of accomplishment in creating their very own functional, personalized electronic devices.


Artificial Intelligence (AI) Overview and Sentiment Analysis (9th-12th grades)


An overview into the concepts around artificial intelligence along with a training session(s) centered around the use of AI with Google Collab.


Exploring Emergency Management and Incident Response from a Mobile Perspective (9th-12th grades)


Students will learn how to creatively think about incident response combining high tech, low tech, and some ingenuity that could help their communities respond in disaster or even begin a career in emergency and disaster response. There are roles for nearly everyone. From mobile communications and community care on the first day to firefighting (both urban and wildland) on another day to imagery and AI on yet another, students will finish the course by playing through incident scenarios designed to bring out the hero in everyone. Included in the course are meet and greets with Service Dogs Honor, Valor, and Kona whose secondary training includes support to those who have experienced trauma.


Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Mission Planning Overview (9th-12th grades)


An overview into the UAS mission planning, data collection, and post-processing workflow steps representative of UAS incident management support.


Cyber Security in the Federal Government (9th-12th grades)


This course will go over the fundamental of cyber security and applying NIST Stand Publications to Federal IT systems. We will also go over the expected Knowledge / Skills / Abilities of Cyber Security positions within the Federal Government; Offensive Cyber Security operations; Defensive Cyber Security operations and complete the course with a Cyber Capture the Flag competition that will require to student to apply the encryption, hacking, and overall cybersecurity they learned in the course.
