Tactical Medical Response

This 5 day hands on, operational class is designed for personnel that will be acting as Medical Providers for a tactical element.  This class will begin with the concepts of tactical medical operations, roles and responsibilities of the TMP, hazards associated with tactical medicine and wound patterns as well as ballistics associated with violence based trauma.  The class will progress into proper gear selection, loud out and shakes downs. basic and advanced medical treatment and procedures, rescue and extraction techniques, team preventative health management and mission medical pre-planning. 

Each team will conduct several tactical pre-plans leading to their subsequent executions within a simulated tactical environment.  Each team will conduct several missions with the end goal of all teams, acting as a large element and executing a joint mission.  This class will involve both day and nighttime operations.  Sensory overload and sensory deprivation will be incorporated into all scenarios to include Distraction Devices, Strobes and Non-Toxic Smoke, blank firing weapons and possible paintball markers.

Requirements and Pre-requisites: This course is open to EMT’s, Paramedics, RN’s, PA’s and Physicians.  All students are required to have the following operational gear: Ballistic Exterior Vest, Helmet, Eye Protection, Ear Protection, APR and Filter, Flashlight, Personal Medical Backpack, BDU Style Trousers and Blouse or Tee/Sweatshirt and Night Vision (Optional), elbow pads and knee pads (Optional). Students will also be required to bring a notebook and writing instrument.  It is recommended that student have a smaller notebook that will fit in their gear (Exceed Hard Cover Ruled Book, 120 Pages, 5” x 8 ½”, Estimated cost $13.00)
