History of Golf in Idaho Falls

Golf and public golf courses in Idaho Falls have a long and storied history.  Join club pro Tim Reinke at the Pinecrest Clubhouse to learn about this history firsthand. Built in 1938, Pinecrest Golf Course is an 18-hole course. It was the second 18-hole golf course in the state of Idaho. Pinecrest can boast many "firsts" in golf. The first Idaho Open was played at Pinecrest in 1941. Pinecrest became widely known as a very beautiful golf course. In a survey by Life Magazine of public courses throughout the country, Pinecrest was selected as one of the three best public courses west of the Mississippi.
