Victor C. Taibi
Hi, I’m Victor Taibi. I have over 38 years of avionics and information technology experience covering all aspects of aircraft communications and navigation systems, instrumentation and autopilot, various radar systems, flight management, and sensors. In the information technology career field, I initially maintained teletype machines, then built XT and 286 processor personal computers, and continued as an administrator and manager through the U.S. Air Force progression from 1200 baud modem circuits to maintaining the DoD global information grid. In particular with regards to unmanned systems, I served as the project manager and site technical lead from 2001 to 2011 for fielding the U.S. Air Force’s first high altitude unmanned aircraft system, the RQ-4 A/B Global Hawk. I led the communication systems, network planning, and cyber-security effort for system’s ground segment locations, building the site ground segment compounds, data centers, and operations centers. From 2012 to 2013, I supported the Defense Information Systems Agency Joint Interoperability Test Command, as their representative to the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s Unmanned Systems Task Force, to document lessons learned from implementing interfaces and connectivity between aircraft and ground segments to customers and agencies world-wide.
I have 28 years active duty with the U.S. Air Force and served as a contractor in support of the DoD ever since my active duty retirement in 2004. Currently, I provide consulting on unmanned systems and am employed by Health Net LLC providing tier 3 (top level) escalation support for critical system issues regarding military, state government, and commercial health insurance. I have been married for 35 years, have 3 adult children in various stages of completing their degrees ranging from aeronautics, film production, and business.
