Greg Grasso
Raised in an Italian / Polish family on the East Coast (Connecticut), Greg is the oldest of eight children, and has been cooking since he was six years old. Growing up during the fifties and sixties, food was the common thread in most American Immigrant households. Family gatherings were common, surrounded by Aunts and Uncles, Grandparents and siblings; it was a time to relax, listening to stories of “the old country”, the life style of one’s’ heritage and beliefs.
After serving in the United States Navy as a Corpsman (Otolaryngology Technician) during the Viet Nam War Era, Greg had a successful career in Advertising throughout the seventies and early eighties. He had won many National Awards for clients like The San Diego Zoo, Bell Helmets, San Diego Gas & Electric (and many more), but got tired of the rat race, so he decided to move to Idaho in 1984. He worked for ISU as a designer from 1995 till 2000.
He currently works for The Marshall Public Library and hosts a monthly radio program with KISU 91.1FM, interviewing noted authors worldwide. You can listen to his interviews via the library’s website, or just google "Chapter One" on iTunes. Greg’s hobbies are cooking, shooting weapons, entertaining friends and further developing his skills in self defense. He and his wife Karen of thirty two years, live on lower campus and are still in love.
