This class will be on “The Great Gatsby,” the life of F. Scott Fitzgerald, and the dust jacket.“The Great Gatsby,”  F. Scott Fitzgerald’s best known work is a portrait of the Jazz Age in all of its decadence and excess, Gatsby captured the spirit of the author’s generation and earned itself a permanent place in American mythology. The cover of the book was completed before the novel and is among the most celebrated pieces of art in American literature. Fitzgerald was so enamored with the cover he wrote his publisher that he had “written it into” the novel.
