Physically inactive people can lose as much as 3% to 5% of their muscle mass each decade after age 30. Loss of muscle leads to weight gain, a slow metabolism, and bone loss. Maintaining strong muscles helps you maintain balance and coordination, a critical element in preventing falls which can lead to osteoporosis related fractures. Studies show that strength training, over a period of time, can help prevent bone loss and may even help build new bone. Led by a Certified Personal Trainer who will show you ways to stay strong and healthy, even at home. Wear comfortable clothing and supportive, closed-toe shoes.
