The River Rescue Workshop is a concentrated course to help individuals develop their river rescue skills.  Friday night will be spent discussing accident prevention, hypothermia, rescue organization and liability as well as learning the knots, anchors and self-equalizing systems needed to perform rescues.

Saturday and Sunday will be spent in the field working on self-rescue techniques as well as rescue techniques from the simplest techniques to more complicated techniques.  This course includes river and equipment hazards, knots, Z-drags, anchors, river rescue equipment, signals and communication, rescue organization,  self-rescue, swimming in the river, throw ropes, swimming onto log jams, tension lines tag lines, foot entrapment, holes, pins, boat entrapments and shallow river crossings.

This course is designed for recreational river users and professionals who will be required to carry out rescues in a swift water environment. The course is based on the philosophy of self-protection and application of simple to complex solutions. The course also focuses on developing teamwork, leadership and problem solving in remote swift water environments.

All equipment is included.
