From memory function to emotions, this class investigates changes in the brain to examine how age impacts the ways in which we think and behave. Particular attention is paid to differences between men and women, whether they age differently from a psychological perspective, and potential reasons underlying the long-held finding that women live longer than men. Factors affecting healthy brain aging and the notion of ‘resiliency’ are also discussed.
