Let’s go fly a kite, after you make one first. We’ll show you how to create a Dan Kurahasi original design, the Malay kite. Even bring your grandchild so you can team up to cut out parts, add a design to the sail, build it out, then fly it high.
Come to class with a simple, easy-to-draw design in mind—think a heart or a peace symbol—that would look bold from several yards up. You’ll learn about kiting throughout cultures, and be able to share the craft of kite-making with others.
