On January 29, 1863, U.S. troops attacked a camp of the Northwestern Shoshone at Bear River, nearly annihilating Chief Sagwich’s Tribe. Darren Parry, a direct descendent of Chief Sagwich, will present details of the event of that day, the impacts of the massacre, and the current efforts of the Northwestern Shoshone to preserve the site.
