CEU Information

What are CEUs?

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are the way of recording contact hours (for relicensing, promotions, maintaining professional memberships and registrations etc.). This is a nationally recognized standard as defined by IACET, the International Association for Continuing Education and Training, which verifies quality content and instruction. Each hour in an approved class is recorded as 1/10 CEU. Please note that CEUs do not accumulate for college credit. Additional information about CEUs can be found here.

Submitting an event for CEU approval

Continuing Education ultimately approves all ISU-issued CEUs. For a course, workshop, or in-service to be considered for CEU recording, an application form must be completed, along with a $25 non-refundable application fee.

If you are an ISU employee, please download the CE Approval Form and follow the instructions outlined in the "CE Approval Process" document.

If you are not associated with Idaho State University, please contact Shirley at (208) 282-2789 or cetrain@isu.edu for further information on how to submit your event for CEU approval.

Cost

There is a $25 non-refundable application fee for an organization to have its events reviewed for CEU approval. Once an event is approved, there is a $20 CEU recording fee per person per program.
