Brief Biography for David K. Johnson

I guess training is in my blood. Coming from a small town east of Moscow in northern Idaho I had my mother as my third and fifth grade teacher. Two of my aunts were also teachers in Washington State and one uncle was a principal and school superintendent while another uncle was on the local school board. Upon graduating from college in 1972 I did some substitute teaching in my home town and signed up to teach in Australia for a year in 1974.

I grew up hunting, fishing and camping. The last 10 years I have mainly concentrated on hiking and fishing and I tie most of my own flies for fishing. As a member of South East Idaho Fly Fishers (SEIFF) I serve on their board and have done fly tying demonstrations for local fly fishing programs as well as shows in Idaho Falls, Park City UT, Salt Lake City UT, West Yellowstone MT, and Livingston MT.
